Welkom bij ExhibitX — de plek waar mensen maandelijks verrast worden door een ervaring. We zetten ons in voor het versterken en promoten van nieuwe stemmen in spatial, exhibition en (immersive) experience design. We zijn altijd op zoek naar frisse ideeën. Lees onderstaande goed en zorg dat je nagedacht hebt over de criteria voordat je je plan opstuurt.

Wat is de ExhibitX Open Call?
Een open aanvraagprocedure voor designers, storytellers en curatoren die in aanmerking willen komen voor een tentoonstelling in ExhibitX. We starten in 2026 en onderscheiden ons door de bezoeker te verrassen — elke maand wordt anders ingevuld, en bezoekers weten niet van tevoren wat ze gaan meemaken.
We zijn de "host" van verhalen die verwonderen, informeren, ontroeren, laten lachen en/of je anders naar de wereld laten kijken. Elk jaar worden circa vier makers uitgenodigd. We beoordelen ingezonden materiaal gedurende het hele jaar.
Voorwaarden
Voorwaarden voor deelname
Je idee hoeft nog niet volledig uitgewerkt te zijn. Een grove schets is genoeg. Wel gelden de volgende randvoorwaarden:
- Maximaal 500 m² vloeroppervlak en niet meer dan 4,5 m plafondhoogte nodig
- Op te bouwen én af te breken binnen 24 uur
- Actief nagedacht over circulaire materialen, CO₂-footprint en toegankelijkheid
- Origineel werk — geen plagiaat
- Indiener is ten minste 18 jaar en in bezit van alle benodigde rechten op het ingediende materiaal
- Medewerkers van ExhibitX en hun familieleden zijn uitgesloten van deelname
Wat zoeken we?
De creatieve vorm telt minstens zo zwaar als het verhaal
We zoeken niet alleen goede verhalen. We kijken of er in het concept een story of me, story of us, story of now zit. Denk breed: vrijwel alles is mogelijk.
Indienen
Hoe dien je in?
Stuur ons een PDF van 2–6 pagina's. We lezen alles. Elk ingekomen plan wordt besproken en ontvangt een reactie. We behandelen jouw inzending vertrouwelijk en delen het met niemand buiten onze organisatie.
- Titel en logline — vat je plan in één zin samen
- Concept statement — de bezoekervaring
- Hero visual & spatial design — beelden, sfeer, eventueel een grove plattegrond
- Energieniveau en sfeer — stil of druk, donker of licht, actief of passief
- 2–3 key momenten — wat gaan mensen doorvertellen?
- Motivatie — waarom moet dit nu gemaakt worden?
- Team — wie zit er achter dit plan en waarom ben jij de aangewezen maker?
- Eerder werk — Vimeo- of YouTube-links (geen WeTransfer)

Welcome to ExhibitX — the place where people are surprised by an experience every month. We are committed to strengthening and promoting new voices in spatial, exhibition, and (immersive) experience design. We are always looking for fresh ideas. Read the following carefully and make sure you have thought about the criteria before submitting your plan.
About this call
What is the ExhibitX Open Call?
An open application procedure for designers, storytellers, and curators who wish to be considered for an exhibition at ExhibitX. We are launching in 2026 and distinguish ourselves by surprising the visitor — each month is different, and visitors do not know in advance what they will experience.
We are the "host" of stories that inspire wonder, inform, move, make you laugh, and/or make you look at the world differently. Every year, approximately four makers are invited. We evaluate submitted material throughout the year.
Conditions
Conditions for participation
Your idea does not need to be fully developed yet. A rough sketch is sufficient. The following preconditions apply:
- Maximum floor area of 500 m² and no more than 4.5 m ceiling height required
- To be set up and dismantled within 24 hours
- Actively considered circular materials, CO₂ footprint, and accessibility
- Original work — no plagiarism
- The submitter must be at least 18 years old and in possession of all necessary rights to the submitted material
- ExhibitX employees and their family members are excluded from participation
What are we looking for?
Creative form counts at least as much as the story
We are not just looking for good stories. We look to see if the concept contains a story of me, a story of us, a story of now. Think broadly: virtually anything is possible.
Submission
How do you submit?
Send us a PDF of 2–6 pages. We read everything. Every submitted plan is discussed and you will receive a response. We treat your submission confidentially and do not share it with anyone outside our organisation.
- Title and logline — summarise your plan in one sentence
- Concept statement — the visitor experience
- Hero visual & spatial design — images, atmosphere, possibly a rough floor plan
- Energy level and atmosphere — quiet or busy, dark or light, active or passive
- 2–3 key moments — what will people tell others?
- Motivation — why does this need to be made now?
- Team — who is behind this plan, and why are you the right creator?
- Previous work — Vimeo or YouTube links (no WeTransfer)
